A Problem

According to the World Health Organization, nearly 60% of clean water projects in Sub-Saharan Africa fail within the first two years.  Why?

Projects are implemented too quickly, without proper consultation and coordination with local communities. We’ve seen dozens of clean water projects that are broken, dried up, stressed, or at risk of failing. Without a strong relationship with the community, damaged or broken water systems are nothing more than a local landmark – a reminder of what could have been. It hurts to see the plaque of a US company or donor mounted to a well that has not been functioning for years.

Our Solution

Our vision is different. For us, clean water is just the beginning. We make sure that the right local leadership councils are in place ahead of the project, and we maintain communication and coordination with our communities for years to come.

To Develop Long Term Solutions, our technical and community teams operate deeply at the grassroots level, working closely with villages to understand their needs. Each water solution and step of the project are accomplished together. Through community relationship building, training, and long-term involvement, we can fully maximize their water investment. Our focus is on isolated communities in arid regions that have been under-served for generations. Everyone deserves access to clean water, regardless of their age, religion, sex, income, education, or social status.
