Bringing New Life To Failed Projects

Clean water is experiencing another crisis. projects are failing and no one is fixing them. What was once keeping communities healthy now lays abandonded. But together, we can bring new life to these projects through rehabilitation, management, and community planning.

The Issue

Many rural clean water points, especially hand pumps, were installed without putting the communities capacity and the NGOs goals into account. Organizations rushed through to complete as many projects as possible causing no maintenance or inpections to be compelted. Poor quality mateials, improper solution solving, and lack of community expertise resulted in the system failing, some being abandonded for years.

The Solution

MissionCleanWater has built their capacity to be the primary responder for restoration efforts in the North Central region of Uganda. By focusing on rehabilitation, we can ensure key districts have a 100% functionality rate of all rural clean water points. This includes installing the highest quality of materials, providing professional management, and working with communities to avoid any future breakdowns.

MissionCleanWater has helped rehabilitate 39 projects. That includes 39 communities or 20,000 residents and 5,000 students.

Is This a New Program For Communities?

Yes. When a community contacts MissionCleanWater or we complete a rehabilitation, they will now be part of our professional service program. We have been building this model since day one and are ready to build it with other NGOs and the Ugandan Government. We are focusing in key districts and have the goal of providing full rehabilitation services to over 3,000 communities or 500,000 people. When a rehabilitation is completed, here is what a community gets:

Brand New System

All of the old parts are removed. most old parts are rusted and leading to contamination issues. By installing high quality parts, we can ensure the well can be used for years to come.

Routine Maintenance

After rehabilitation, over the phone and in person follow ups are completed to complete systems checks and to hear from the communities.

Breakdown Repairs

If a breakdown does occur, we have set up the logistical network for materials and local professionals to ensure it is back online within 24 hours.

Community Training

Continual community work to help establish their own network of trained proffesionals to be able to diagnose any issues, work towards caring for the system, and be able to work with us to maintain any systems.
