My name is Kevin Schmidt and three years ago, I would have laughed if anyone would have told me that this year I would be running 100 miles in under 24 hours.

However, I ran my first 5k in January of 2020 and haven’t stopped running since. Couple my love for long-distance running and giving back to the community, and you have the reason why I’m running this race.

I went to Uganda, Africa in 2010 on a mission trip and when I found Mission Clean Water, I knew that I needed to give back and help out the cause. So, in an effort to raise awareness and funds for this amazing non-profit, I will be running my first and probably not last, 100 mile race!

Kevin's ability to run long distances would not be possible without clean water. This is why he is dedicated to raising $3,000, so communities, families, and children around the world can have better access to clean water.

Tamaques Park 24hr race

The event Kevin is competing in is a 24 hour race at Tamaques Park in Westfield, NJ. He will have to complete as many laps as he can along the .8 mile loop until 24 hours pass or he reaches his distance goal of 100 miles. What does a strategy look like?

4.16 miles

To reach 100 miles in 24 hours, Kevin must accomplish 4.16 miles every hour.

300-400 calories

Every hour, Kevin should shot to consume 300-400 calories to keep his body going

3-4 support crew

Accomplishing 100 miles is not done alone. He will have his family and friends to care and run with him.

Why Clean Water?

A healthy lifestyle and running would be impossible without clean water. This is why Kevin is dedicating this 100 miles towards MissionCleanWater. Help them raise $3,000 towards our clean water projects to make sure everyone can have a basic human right, clean water. This will give 100 families clean water for a lifetime.
