24 Hours For Clean Water

Fundraising Goal: $1000

My name is Jonathan Allen Jr and I started my road to long distance running in 2023. It all started with some trail races that involved running up mountains and obstacles. After that, I was asked to join a close friend in doing a 100 mile race. I am always up for a challenge. And so it started my crossover into long distance. I got to 80 miles and had to pull out due to injury. But one never truly knows someone’s struggle until they put themselves in their shoes. After that, I set in my mind that I will not stop until the job is done.

After finding out about Mission Clean Water and what they do for people in Uganda I knew I had to do my part to help. With the struggles that so many go through, to get through life and get clean water. If I can help by any means to make it easier for them I will. With the help of the community and us becoming one, I know great things will come. So, if I need to put my body through the gridiron to help, I will. I will, do so because they are fighting everyday with less resources and that is so amazing and shows so much strength.

Why Water?

Roughly, 1 billion people in the world lack access to clean drinking water. Every day, they will wake up and ask themselves, “Where am I getting water from today?” Usually, their only option is small hand-dug wells scattered throughout the community often shared with animals. Children will walk anywhere from 1-3 miles to collect this water that has different diseases that can make someone sick, especially a child.

This is where your help comes in. To create a closer solution of clean water. Help us reach our $1000 donation goal.
