We Put In The Miles So They Don’t Have To

The Holmdel Classic

The Holmdel Classic is MissionCleanWater’s end-of-the-year trail ultra in Holmdel Park. Runners take on seven loops of a 4.65-mile course, about 32.5 miles in total, almost entirely on trail.

It starts gently and doesn’t stay that way. From an open grass field, runners climb straight into a quarter-mile hill, then work through a series of descents and climbs before reaching the park’s signature feature, the Bowl, at mile 1.5. Each loop gains about 584 feet, which adds up to more than 4,000 feet of climbing by the finish, on a course built around one of the toughest cross-country layouts in the country.
